SilverSingles or Single 60s: which is better for you in Australia?
Both welcome older Australians, but they're run very differently. Here's a fair look.
SilverSingles is an over-50s site now run by SuccessfulMatch, the company behind SeniorMatch, with an Australian page, an iPhone app and selfie video checks. Single 60s is made for Australians over 60, welcomes friendship, and lets a free account send messages every day. Your age and how much you want to do free will decide it.

Who runs SilverSingles now?
If you knew SilverSingles a few years ago, it has changed hands. It used to belong to Spark Networks, a German company placed in preliminary insolvency in January 2026. Today its own pages name SuccessfulMatch, a US-registered company with a contact address in Canada, as the operator. The same company runs SeniorMatch, so the two over-50s names many Australians weigh against each other now sit under one roof.
The old Australian web address now forwards to the main international site, where an Australian page links to pages for each state and the ACT. Its terms say profiles may be shared with the company's affiliated sites. If you had an account before 2026, it's worth asking the company whether it carried across.
Fifty-plus or sixty-plus: who would you like to meet?
SilverSingles asks members to be at least 50, so it takes in people in their fifties as well as those over 60. That's a real strength if you're in your fifties, or if you're happy to meet someone a decade younger.
Single 60s is pitched ten years later. Among our Australian members over 55, more than half are 65 or older, and women and men are close to even. Wanting a companion for the cinema is as welcome here as wanting romance, and your profile says which you are after. More on friendship after 60.
What does SilverSingles cost, and what can you do free?
SilverSingles has two levels. The free one lets you join, build a profile and view potential matches, though the company says contact with other members is limited. The paid level, called Silver Select, brings private messaging, video or voice chat and the chance to see who likes you.
On Single 60s, a free account can do more than look. You get a full profile, daily match suggestions, posts, polls and comments, and a set number of messages each day, and you can read and reply to anything a VIP member sends you. Unlimited messaging and extras such as advanced search and chat rooms come with VIP, listed on the pricing page.
How each site checks people are who they say
SilverSingles says it verifies profiles before other members can see them, using a clear main photo and a short selfie video compared with the photos. The company is open that this doesn't confirm every profile detail or how someone will behave, which is a fair point for any site.
Single 60s offers a free government ID check that earns a Verified badge, or a live video check with a moderator if you'd rather not upload a document. The team validates profiles, photos and text are screened as they're uploaded, and a warning appears if someone tries to move your chat to WhatsApp, a common early step in romance scams. When SilverSingles may suit you better
Choose SilverSingles if you're in your fifties, if you want an app you can download from the App Store, or if you prefer a site that keeps unverified profiles out of view. Choose Single 60s if you're over 60, want to start conversations without paying, or would value friendship as much as romance.
