About Single 60s: Bringing the Over 60s Together Since 2014

Single 60s Australia is a friendship and dating site for Australians over 60. It has been online at single60s.com.au since 2014, with sister sites for the United Kingdom and the United States, and it exists for one reason: to make it easier to meet people at your own stage of life for company, romance or both.

Making it easier to meet someone after 60

Meeting someone new after 60 is harder than it should be. Friends are paired off, workplaces are behind you, and the big dating apps are built around people half a lifetime younger. Single 60s started from a simple idea: put people over 60 in one place, let them say plainly what they are looking for, and make the first conversation easy.

That idea has not changed. What has changed is the technology underneath. The site now runs on the HubPeople dating platform, which brings daily matching, identity and video checks, scam warnings and moderation that a small site could never build alone, while the people you meet are Australians who joined Single 60s.

The people you will meet here

More than 1,400 Australians have a profile here. Nine in ten of the men are 55 or older, more than half of everyone over 55 has turned 65, and among the over-55s women and men are close to even, so you are among your own generation. The largest groups of members live in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, with good numbers in Perth and Adelaide and smaller groups in Tasmania and the territories. Adults only

Everyone on the site is 18 or over, and the site is made for people over 60.

Real people

Profiles are screened when they are created, and selling goods or services to other members is not allowed.

Be kind in messages, chat rooms and comments. If someone is not for you, a polite "thanks, but no" is enough.

Respect for all

Everyone is welcome, whatever their background. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and other hate are not tolerated.

Safety

Keep early conversations on the site, and never share bank details or send money or gift cards.

Discretion

If you recognise a member out and about, only approach them if they have said you may.

Boundaries

No means no. Ask before sharing photos, and move at the other person's pace.
